About Us

Who we are

This is how our journey began………..

Platform Two evolved from an idea between friends Alison and Grace, who after working for a larger charity decided that they had a passion for retail and charity. Realising that the smaller charities don’t necessarily have the resources or the knowledge on how to utilise and turn donated goods into funding, they decided that this is where they would be able to help most of all. Doing this with a different concept in mind by fundraising through all types of donations from the local community.

Our concept is to source donations of clothes, books, CDs & DVDs, small electrical’s & bric-a-brac, and turn them into valuable funds.

Our aim is to support local charities and community projects throughout the year, via social media, online sales, through working in the community and through our website.

We will recruit and train volunteers with valuable skills, helping them gain confidence and experience for their future.

The Platform Two Team

Alison Ramskill – Director

I am local to the Fylde Coast, born in Blackpool. I have over the years worked in various roles and owned a successful business with my husband. Latterly, I worked for a local charity within the retail sector and this is where my passion lies. I have knowledge and life skills that I have developed over the last 25 years and I would like to share these skills with the local community.

I feel that I can empower the smaller charities and community projects to have a voice, work with local businesses and colleges and help source donations and raise vital funds for their causes. I have a passion for working together in partnership with local people and charities.

Grace Kelly – Director

Coming from a background of customer service, banking, retail and the licensed trade of over 20 years, I eventually found my vocation working in the local charity sector, starting as a volunteer and building this into managing the 16 shops for a local Fylde Coast Hospice. This gave me an understanding of the importance these charities play in the local community.

As a Retail Manager, it gave me the knowledge of how to best use donations to generate funding, how to use social media and online shopping to corner markets, also how to develop good working relationships with local businesses.

I  want to continue to support the smaller local charities and community projects, promoting these unsung heroes, working alongside volunteers, businesses and the third sector, helping to raise their profile, giving them a platform to be heard and assisting them in achieving their goals.
